Structure
This particular firm offers the best compensation in the market. Compensation is structured between a very competitive base salary and the best bonus program in the accounting advisory industry. Last year the average bonus was 42%!
For most candidates, the compensation here will represent a significant raise(many over 50% in terms of total comp), offering them better opportunities to take more exciting vacations, make a down payment on a house, save more money earlier in their lives, etc.
The firm can offer significantly better compensation than large CPA firms as they effectively share more billing revenue with their employees. If you currently work in public accounting, consider the following example:
CPA Firm Senior
$85k base plus $5k year-end bonus – $90k total comp, approximately $1,731 per week.
Busy Season Week (70 hours worked): Paid around $25/hr (considering hours worked) while the client is generally billed $300/hr or so (depending on market).
There’s clearly a significant margin here. Consulting firms have similar bill rates but are willing to pay employees better to attract and retain talent. Many candidates that make the switch to this firm receive raises of over 50% in terms of total compensation.

Do I get any choice in the engagements I’m placed on?
Yes – as you are completing your current engagement you will be shown various projects in the pipeline. You’ll be asked to rate your top choices out of the group and the firm will do the best they can to put you on one of those projects.
How is my performance
rated?
Performance is rated based on client feedback and manager performance reviews. Past history of solid performance is taken into account. 95-97% of associates are rated highly.
Is this similar to temp staffing?
No. This is professional consulting and there’s a huge difference. Candidates coming from CPA firms are sometimes confused by the nature of professional consulting firms. Unlike CPA firms, the business is not cyclical with yearly repetition (ie year-end busy season work, quarterly work, etc). You’ll always be on unique assignments with different team sizes depending on the client’s needs. Consulting bill rates are very high as the clients trust the firm due to their talent and unique service. Temps are generally billed at a lower rate to do less impactful work.
